Clothes history: The dress was created for the fashion shows that Zuzu Angel held at her home in Ipanema. This piece is part of the apostolate collection, which was launched on August 1970, in Rio de Janeiro. When launching her first collection in New York, on November 16th 1970, the designer created new designs following the same concept. According to Hildegard Angel (December 2016 statement), the rural collection can have a double interpretation: a tribute to Dom Paulo Evaristo Arns apostolates (significant charity branch in Rio de Janeiro, founded the Bank of Providence and apostolates, a clergy member for whom Zuzu had great admiration) as well as the name of said apostolates. Although the lace [applied to the dress] might have come from the northeast, they were called northern lace at the time. Title attributed by Zuzu Angel.
